More about the book:

Banana me beautiful is a collection of poems and artwork from a child, a teenager and an adult, Emily Dodd. Explore the journey on the Banana me beautiful facebook page.

Banana Me Beautiful is written with imagination, sensitivity and originality. Emily Dodd is an extremely talented and creative writer who I believe will be a worthy addition to Chipmunkapublishing.

Jason Pegler, CEO of Chipmunka Publishing

We're delighted to support Emily and have her launch on our barge. She's one of Leith's many creative gems and we're committed to supporting and helping creativity in the area whether it's through Leith Records or through support such as this.

Ed Brooke, Head of Leith Agency

I am thrilled to read one of Emily's poems on this special night.  She is an emerging Scottish voice who writes with wit, passion and insight.  She is one to watch.

Young Dawkins the 3rd, the 2011 Scottish Slam Poetry Champion

It's certainly a innovative way to present a collection of poetry - more concept album than dry anthology. Call me juvenile, but my favourite ones are those designed for kids. And for anyone who knows Emily, this book is her personality writ large in verse.

Edd McCracken, University of Edinburgh Press Officer, freelance journalist and critic

Listen to a poem from the book about starlings and iron filings. Buy the book here.

It says the event finishes at 8.30pm but please stick around on the boat to socailise, finish off drinks and eat banana cake. There's 80 of us, looking forward to it. Please arrive early.
